Programme telemedicine rules
The key rules for future remote consultations.
When an appointment is created
A telemedicine appointment is created as a separate action in the programme. Only then are the necessary patient details sent to the appointment system.
Consultation scope
The professional decides whether a remote consultation is sufficient. They may recommend an in-person examination, additional tests or another safe course of action.
Emergencies
Programme telemedicine is not a replacement for emergency care. If there is an immediate threat to health or life, contact the appropriate emergency service without delay.
